Weekend Spent...

"Look Ma, a Ninja Turtle... Wooo-chaaaaa!!"

It's like a routine, everytime when I'm not working, my mind's switch on to homemaker mode & the hubby never fails to say, "Ummi, have you had enough of doing chores? Need my help? Your hands & feet never stops walking around doing stuffs in the house..."

My usual reply, "It's OK la. It's my responsibility anyway, as a wife & a mother & are you not lucky to have me? (grinning)"

Him, "Diligent, hardworking and multi-task... Very few wives could do the same thing as you do...
I thank Allah for giving me you as my wife... (smiling) "

So (as usual) I spent this week's long holiday cum weekend cleaning, vacuuming (seriously the amount of dust is... SPEECHLESS...), mopping, cooking, doing the laundry (and I got tonnes of laundry plus ironing to do), attending a wedding reception & grocery shopping with the hubby & kids...

There's this wedding reception from the maternal grams side of the family somewhere in Hougang... Obviously, hubby & I went there with our kids... Reception started from 2pm till 10pm... And we got ourselves lost for nearly half & hour on the road making lots of turns, going round & round... pfft...

Quite a number of people attended the reception... And there's this thing called "joget lambak" happening @ the wedding reception itself... People dancing to kara-ok songs sang by other people...

We were surprised to see that those dancing were "pakciks & makciks" aged between 40 plus to 50 plus... The rest of us just sat, observed & laughed @ the way they danced... Songs played were very "OR-BIT" to the max... And the heavy rainy weather in the evening was making the whole atmosphere even worst... Da macam kat kelab dangdut siak... They were like shaking their shoulders & asses off... OMG... Unbelievable... And here I am thinking that this type of "joget lambak" doesn't exist anymore coz obviously it still does... (-_-)"

We managed to leave early & that was only after the DJ played a few songs which consisted of famous Hindustani music... 50% of the Malay people there were dancing like crazy to "Bollywood Fever"... And did I tell you that every single 1 of them wore sarees, punjabs & kurtas?

Seriously, this is the 1st time I went to a very "kecoh-rable, joget lambak" wedding... Even the brides & grooms (yup! 2 brides & 2 grooms) were caught dancing their asses off... ahahahaha!! And I'm like, "Huh? Oh... OK..." This is another type of Malay Wedding, or no, wait, Bollywood/Deepavali Wedding or whatever it is called la har... Thank God the food were all yummy-licious... Especially the Asam Chicken... Very nice...

After which, the rest of our evening was spent with the kids @ Giant Tampines Hypermarket... The kids sure love to go there... They'll spent their time @ the toys section with their Baba, while I go around shopping for groceries & stuffs...

I had this sad dream last Friday nite...

I dreamt of my late uncle (Wak Mi) who had passed away a year ago... In that dream, he looked 20 years younger like how he used to look like when grams were staying @ 1 of her previous cribs... His face was glowing & the moment he saw me, he smiled & straight away hugged me so tightly & kissed me on my forehead just like he always did when he was alive... He didn't even say a word... He just, hugged... The hug was a comforting one that it made me burst into tears.. It's like in that dream, I was telling him about my feelings & those problems that I'm facing & about his daughter & all... I really couldn't hold back my tears... I just cried... (sigh)

I guess maybe perhaps, he somehow knew everything & he knows that I can overcome every single obstacles that comes along the way & that I'm trying my best...

I eventually woke up crying... That was the most saddest dream I've ever had... Somehow, I felt better... Maybe thanks to the hug... I guess...

Till now, I still couldn't believe that he's gone too soon...

Al-Fatehah...
