Litttle Asyura's Birthday Photo Clips...

We ended up buying a little cute birthday cake for Asyura at the very last minute...

Hubby, "Nak beli kek tak?"

Me, "Beli la... Asyura blom tahu the meaning of blowing a birthday candle but Asil does ape..."

Hubby, "Betol jugak... K la... Skarang jugak kite turon gi beli... But I can't be late coz I've class later in the evening..."

Me, "K la k la..."

So we bought a little Cheese Birthday Cake for her... Well, I know how much she and her brother Asil, love the taste of cheezie-cheese in their mouths...

Had a little birthday celebration with the dad coz his birthday is like 4 days away from Asyura's (24.02.09)... So why not do it together? The more, the merrier kan?

Happy 1st Birthday Adek @ Nur Ikramina Asyura...

Nur Ikramina Asyura...

Happy Birthday To You!! Happy Birthday To You!! Happy Birthday!! Happy Birthday!! Happy Birthday To You!!

Selamat Menyambot Ulang Tahon Yang Pertame Buat Anak Kecil ku, Nur Ikramina Asyura...

A message to my little daughter (at her age now, she might not be able understand but as she grow and starts learning in school, she (and her big brother) will have the privilege of going into my blog and be able to read its content...) :-

I always pray that both you and your brother would grow up to be filial children. I don't expect the both of you to shower your Ummi and Baba with worldly pleasures in order to please us... But there's one thing that we would like to ask from the both of you - your love towards us, parents...

It would make our days worthwhile knowing that we have to good children who treat us as bestfriends, share problems and point of views with us, spend quality time with us and most importantly, children who appreciates and understand the true meaning of cherishing bitter sweet memories together in a family...

We don't need you or your Abang to shower us with gifts... But what we want is for the both of you to appreciate us as parents, who try our very best to bring the both of you up walau macamane susah sekalipon...

Our hearts would break, if one day, you both were to neglect us as we grow older and who knows, maybe senile (Insya'allah, I will always pray for the goodness in our family... Amin)...

Whatever circumstances it maybe, Nur Ikramina Asyura and Muhamad Isyraq Asil, you both will always be the sweet and adorable pair of apples in our eyes... Love you both a lot!! Mmmmmuah!!

OK, before I go all teary any moment now, I think it's best if I start my birthday poem for my little birthday girl... So little Asyura (if you're reading this in a few years to come), here's a little poem dedicated especially on your 1st birthday... Be mommy & daddy's good girl OK... Oh!! And Abang Asil too!! Be our great hero in the family and do us proud both of you!! Jadilah anak2 yang mithali... Insya'allah... Amin...

A poem for my little baby girl...

Come back into the fold of my protective wings.
Let not your spirit be restless for you are here with me.

I will always be your one on which to lean, your rock, your number one fan.
Fear not child to speak your mind.

Undo the wrongs of the day and together we'll make them right.
Speak of heartaches so that they may be subdued.

Share your joys so that they may be my joys too.
Always know that I am with you for you are my precious gift from Allah.

I will always love you and keep you safe from life's hardships.
I will cushion your bumps and tend to your scrapes.

I will guide you tenderly; Your brilliant eyes will always be my sun
Share with me your heart and I with you.

I love you...

Love, Ummi...

Hanging Out With The Cousins...

The mom called me up in the office 2 days ago, asking me to take a day off for yesterday, as she was not feeling well and due to that, she didn't have the strength to take care of my babies...

So yeah, I took an Urgent Child Leave yesterday and while I'm at home taking care of the babies, the mom went to the Neighbourhood Polyclinic for a visit to see the doctor...

Had a little chat with the cousin (Lala)... She was hoping if I could assist her and her bro (cousin Sufi) in finding a few shops selling aquatic animals and stuffs coz there weren't much choices in her neighbourhood for things like that... I told her that there are a few shops in Yishun and perhaps we could check the place out... So we agreed to meet up in the late afternoon... I brought the babies along with me...

Our 1st stop was Chong Pang Central... There were 2 shops selling aquatic animals and stuffs... The cousin did her "browsing and comparing of prices" while I did my "look around" for anything that interest me... I ended up buying a cute little "Beta" fish container that cost 6 bucks and the anti-chlorine solution for the water at only 2 bucks... Thought of getting myself a "Beta" (commonly known as "fighting fish") fish there but nah... Fighting fish kat Chong Pang sume nye tak menawan dihatiku... (Can't help it la, must try to control myself from shopping on impulse... tsk tsk tsk...)

Next stop was FOOD... Seriously, I was feeling hungry (sebab tak makan since morning)... The babies had already eaten at home... I cooked fish porridge for them to eat... I brought the cousin for a treat at a nearby Hawker Centre... Recommended her the Nasi Ayam Penyet and apparently she likes the food there... hee hee... We bumped into my 1st bro in-law and his wife who were having their late lunch there too...

While eating, the cousin (Sufi) called saying that he's on his way to Yishun... So we decided to meet him at the Yishun Mrt Station before walking towards another shop situated somewhere near the Yishun Interchange... Once there, the 2 cousins did their browsing and stuffs like that while I (as what I did at Chong Pang) looked around for my little "Beta" fish... Then, I saw one... A turquoise colored male "Beta"... Soooooooo "ka-wai-neh" (which means pretty in Japanese)... So without any hesitation, I bought the cute little fish... hee hee... Suke aku...

The cousins were still struggling on the stuffs they should buy... So we ended up going back to Chong Pang Central coz most of the stuffs they wanted were sold there... Sambel jalan patah balek gi Chong Pang tu, I remembered that I've left out something for my little pet fish...

Me (talking to the cousins), "Eh, aku ni da ade ikan dengan fish tank... Aku baru teringat, makanan ikan aku tak beli la... Nanti kite patah balek Chong Pang, aku beli skali la..."

So the cousins were pretty satisfied with the stuffs they bought at Chong Pang and I, on the other hand, got my fish food too... We had dinner while waiting for the hubby to arrive... Hubby pulak da sampai kat Chong Pang tak abes2 nak cari mobilephone baru... So after dinner we went "mobilephone hunting" (Thanks Sufi for helping Abang Rizal out on the mobilephone thingy)... We played a little prank on the hubby that had all of us laughing like crazy all the way while sending the cousins back home... Chilled at their crib for awhile before we headed back home...

Eh La!! Thanks for helping me out with the babies... Kau ade tokoh jadi baby-sitter yang baik... hee hee...

And this morning, I brought along my pet fish to work (together with his fish food and other fish stuffs)... So I'm gonna name him, SOLO... Coz he's all alone, single and available (Female "Beta" fish pet owners, any takers? hee hee...)... And most importantly, he's gonna be accompanying me in the office every single working day of my life... Thought of naming him, TURQUOISE but nah... That name sounds so girl-ish... bleurgh...

Jazakallahu Khayran...

I'm so glad that my long awaited stuff is here already...!! Woo hoo!! Suke aku!! Berbulan aku sabar menanti, at last, sampai jugak kat Singapore... Alhamdulillah... :)

Ever since I first purchased an "Amr Diab" CD and that was way back in year 2004... I totally felt in love with Middle Eastern Music... I've a collection of Arabic CDs at home (one of my favourite female singers is Pascale Machaalani), mostly bought in Singapore and the price for each CD is so freaking expensive compared to the one Iman bought for me in Cairo (For your info: Iman is actually my sis-in-law's, Muz, brother's girlfriend. That's how I got to know her... hee hee...). So since, there's an advantage of having Iman studying in the University of Al-Azhar, Cairo, I mean, why not tompang diye belikan CD lagu Arab, kan? Kan? Kan? My hubby pon sempat tompang kirem beli his stuffs too...

To Sis Muz and Bro Yuz: Thank you so much for helping me and hubby out with the stuffs that we asked from Iman... We owe you one... Big time!! Jazakallahu Khayran...

To Sis Iman: Thank you for taking the trouble of finding and getting our stuffs all the way in Cairo... We love it!! Jazakallahu Khayran to you too!!

Asyura's Ponytails & Henderson Waves (Again)...

Salam people...

It's such a nice and pleasant weekend I might say...

My recent Saturday was spent at home with babies and hubby. As usual, I did the laundry while hubby help to assist me in cleaning the crib (thank you Baba for helping Ummi... love u lots!!). We had no urge of going out... So what did we do? We were just lazing around watching television with the babies and hubby... I managed to take some pictures of little Asyura with her hair all tied up (into 2 cute looking ponytails) at the back of her head. She looks so cute with that hairstyle... Asil on the hand was pretty amazed her little sister's new look!!

And yesterday was spent at Mount Faber... We were actually looking for Makam Radin Mas Ayu which (if I'm not mistaken) was situated at the foot of Mount Faber but to our disappoinment, we couldn't find the place... pfft... Instead we hanged around at the Temenggong Mosque (the one with the graves of one of Malaysia's Royal Family). No pictures taken of that place coz frankly, it felt a little bit creepy for me to be there... I mean, centuries old Muslim graveyard right beside a mosque? No no no... I'm not gonna be taking any more pictures of a place where there's a lot of graves everywhere... The last time I did that, there's a picture of a lady in white with long hair covering her face sitting on the branch of a tree... Eeeeeee... It really gives me the goosebumps...

After the Maghrib prayer, we made our move to Henderson Waves and spent our time there for a while... We were actually expecting some wind to blow right across our faces but nah!! There wasn't any wind at all... We were all sweaty-ish... Lucky for the babies I made them wore sleeveless t-shirts... hee hee...

Dinner was spent at Bedok Seafood Restaurant... Yup! From Mount Faber to Henderson Waves and then drove all the way to Bedok... Food was fantastic!! I tell you... My Claypot Noodles was yummy!! Hubby's Kong-Bao Beef with Rice was nice too!!

Oh and this morning, here in the office, I mean right outside the office... SAF was doing their normal rescue routine. It's like a monthly drill (I think) coz everytime I brought my faithful digicam along (almost everyday) to have their rescue mission plus helicopter photos taken, they didn't seem to appear at all... pfft... So I was pretty lucky today to have caught it all on camera!! Woo hoo!! (for your info if some of you are still wondering: my workplace premises is situated right infront of the sea overlooking Malaysia).

OK, basically, their rescue mission was to save a human (in their case right now it's one of their fellow Commandos coz since it's some sort of like a practice drill) who got stuck in the middle of the sea... They sent a helicopter down together with the Rescue Commando that sort of thing and save the helpless human... The whole helicopter "woosh-ing" thingy was unbearably loud... Imagine a helicopter hovering on air about 3 storeys high and about 20 to 30 metres away from you? That's how close it gets live right infront of my very eyes!! Tak payah nak tunggu National Day... Depan mate je da bole nampak SAF buat rescue...

Oh and this cousin of mine (Lala), she's been keeping herself up-to-date with the latest news on the "Rihanna & Chris Brown" crisis. You know the beating and stuffs like that... So the cousin had this little article in her blog that had interest me a lot coz I find it pretty hilarious!! I laughed my lungs out the moment I read it!! Check it out!!

"Chris Brown and Rihanna left the Clive Davis party under an Umbrella but when they got into the car there was some Disturbia over his being Unfaithful. She told him to Shut Up And Drive or go to Rehab. At this point Chris decided to Take Her Down from Wall To Wall. He Took A Bow, said Excuse me Miss, then Run It possibly Forever. Rihanna sent an SOS and gave the police a Pon De Replay but asked the Grammy organisers to Please Don’t Stop The Musicmama se mama se mama-kosa. Now they both must learn how to Live Your Life with No Air. "

So, OK... SLIDE uploaded :)

T.G.I.F...!!

Well, thank God is Friday!! Woo hoo!! Suke aku!! I'll be claiming my "Saturday OFF" tomorrow... (Note: My claiming of "Saturday OFF" has nothing to do with "Valentine's Day" coz we, husband and wife, don't celebrate it)

Seriously, I'm in no mood to focus on my office work... I kept thinking about my babies and hubby... Lately, I've been thinking about quitting my job and be a homemaker... Taking care of the babies has been my first and foremost priority actually...

And I've yet to start opening up my blogshop for public viewing coz there's still much touching up that needs to be done... Plus I need to juggle a lot of other things at the same time as well... pfft...

Just looking forward to spent quality time with my mini little family this weekend... Maybe a picnic by the beach? Or perhaps a hike on Bukit Timah Hill? Or a trip to the Singapore Zoo? Or no... Wait... Maybe feasting at Sakura International Buffet... tsk tsk tsk...

I'm pretty well contented with everything that He has given me... Walaupun hidupku ni tak sekaya seperti sesetengah manusia but I'm grateful with it... Allah mempermudahkan setiap segala urusan buat keluargeku... :) Syukur Alhamdulillah...

Nothing much had happened lately... Well, except for the usual stuffs... Grocery-shopping at Giant (Tampines) Hypermarket la... Window-shopping at Takashimaya S.C la... Then, the other day had dinner with the aunt and her hubby la... That sort of thing... (SLIDE uploaded)

Oh and there's this particular colleague of mine who totally gets on my nerves almost every single day of the week. Nak kate kan diye slenge, tak slenge... Nak kate kan bengap, tak bengap... I just hate people who loves to be "spoon fed"... I mean, people who don't even bother to make an effort by themselves in doing things on their own... Like how to solve a problem la, how to create their own reports la, how to get more suppliers that could produce good quality products at affordable prices la... That sort of thing... I mean, I don't mind la if lepas da gi korek2 and cari2, they still couldn't solve their problem, then, their last resort is that, they would have to seek for my assistance... Ini tak!! Belom investigate belom ape da step tanye mintak tolong!! Overall, I HATE PEOPLE WHO DON'T EVEN BOTHER TO MAKE AN EFFORT IN SOLVING PROBLEMS ON THEIR OWN AND ENDED UP EXPECTING OTHERS TO HELP SOLVE THEIR PROBLEMS FOR THEM!! Gosh!! These people really bug the hell out of me!!

"Lily, can help me find this... ... ...?" "Lily, you know where's the file for... ... ...?" "Eh Lily, which driver is incharge of ... ... ...?" "Lily, later can teach me how to do ... ... ... Can?"

And one of my sarcastic, long-winded remarks to them would be, "Eh! God gives you all the 5 senses right? You cannot use your 5 senses to go dig for the info yourself is it? Make an effort 1st can or not? You can use your brain to think 1st or not? Then, last resort you come and look for me, can? I don't do spoon-feeding want hor... I always make an effort to dig infos by myself without even asking for any help!! So please la hor... You find and think 1st can? If I can do it, why can't you? You're not retarded right?"

My goodness!! Lazy humans... tsk tsk tsk... I can't tolerate them sometimes...

Weekend Spent In The East...

So one of my aunt (Mama Yang) from the maternal side of the family had organized a chalet at Pasir Ris DownTown East last weekend. Everyone's there... Well, not everyone actually... Some couldn't make it but we had a great time feasting, singing, joking, laughing that sort of thing...

We chilled till about 4am in the morning... Imagine that!! Aduh!! Aduh!! Gamat sekali... Mate guwe udah seperti beruang PANDA sih!! The parents and siblings decided to stay overnight and so we proceeded back home without them... It was fun being around with the cousins and the food was great!!

Anyway, I've bought myself a box of "Eye Mask Patch" for dark circles and puffiness around the eye area... Oh! And also this stuff called "Tummi Trim" for bulging tummy (sad to say but I do have a bulging tummy... bleurgh...). Really need to lose of some of those FAT around my waist... I'm so not liking the look of it. Hubby was like, "What!! You paid what!! For all these stuffs?! You looked OK per... Bukan nye gemok..." And I'm like (with an innocent looking face), "Sape cakap? I da gemok la... I need it you know, Baba... Dua barang je per... Blom cube blom tahu per... For myself what..." Then, hubby gave me that "whatever" and "gasak kau la" kind of look face and I just looked at him grinning... hee hee... (Orang lelaki ni kan tak baik tau kadang2 :( Dorang beli rokok be-kotak2 kite pon tk banyak songel)... I hope these products would work on me... Well, at least that's what I hope for... Kalau tak nampak drastic changes, moderate would do just fine too... I don't know if I don't try... ;) Must always think POSITIVE!! Betol tak?

SLIDE uploaded... Not much pictures taken coz, little Asyura had been glue-ing herself on me (macam belangkas) so, I've trouble taking pictures with my digicam... pfft... BUT I've a few random pictures of little Asil taken when he was about 10 months old. So check it out!! He looks so unbearably CUTE-ish and ADORABLE- ish!!

Insya'allah, He'll Adapt Well In The Child Centre...

Salam people!!

As usual, for the past few days I've been sending little Asil to the Child Centre. He's progressing very well ever since, well, except for the fact that he would cry after we left him safely in the hands of his teacher, Miss Pok. I got mom to help me keep an eye on Asil at the Centre and so far, my little toddler has stopped crying and he's socialising well with his classmates. :) Alhamdulillah... A good sign that he's already getting use to the environment there...

Not much stuffs to write in my blog today... Feeling pretty moody and pissed... Moreover this freaking migraine is killing me so badly... Can't even focus on my office work... pfft...

Anyway, what is it with people who can't even mind their own freaking darn business?! Those who are too busy sticking their nose on the lives of others and not even bothering to look at their own flaws... Per-lease la!! I'm so sick and tired of having all these people around me!! The BUSYBODIES and the TYPICAL MAKCIK K-POs... Gosh!! Get the freaking hell out of my freaking business!! You people should go get a decent job for God's sake!!

OK... Feeling much better now... :)

Little Asil's 2nd Day In The Child Centre...

OK people...

I've uploaded my SLIDE for today's activity...

Little Asil's had his uniform on him already... Oh and he's the only little boy in the Centre who looks 'comel' and petite too!! Every adult in the Centre kept on saying, "Mummy, your Asil look so 'katek' and cute la... 2 years old but sooooo 'katek' and cute... Small, small only ya..."

I stayed with my little toddler for 1 and a half hour... Played along and interacted with the teachers and children... Everything was fine for Asil but things started to change as soon as I sneaked out of the class... Just like yesterday, he was caught crying and weeping after realizing that I was not around... But I came back in less than 15mins... Decided to bring him home 30mins earlier... Hubby came straight to the Centre after work and met up with us there. Brought little Asil out for a treat after that before making our move home...

So the hubby had something on this evening... And while the hubby's away, I decided to bring the babies and bro Adam out for dinner at Chong Pang Central... Had a little stroll with the kids... Thought of buying myself a pair of lipsticks but nah... I've to skip it coz the babies were getting agitated in the pram and all... And so, we went to the nearest Supermarket where I bought Fomula Milk powders for the babies and some groceries...

Right now, I've just finished with my cooking (sebab tu sempat blogging)... A colleague of mine had introduced me to this wonderful taste, and I'm hooked to it ever since... Well, she's from Myanmar and she really knows how to cook up a storm... Her cooking? It's fantastic!! Hot, sour and spicy!! So OK... I've no idea what's the name of this recipe of hers called in Myanmar but OK la, I just make up a name, yes? I shall call it - Hot and Spicy Shrimp Floss... slurrrp...

So here's what you need...

A packet of Dried Shrimps (just wash and drain the water to remove any dirt)
Some 'Chilli Padi'
Chilli Paste
Chopped Garlic
Chopped Onions
Cooking Oil
Salt (to taste)

And here's the tedious part (for me la that is)... 'TUMBOK' (sampai naik lengoh lengan aku)...

YOU have to 'tumbok' (pound) the washed shrimps till they shred into pieces by that pounding and all... You'll get a very fine shredded texture... Next, separately pound the chilli padi and put it aside. Heat up your pan and pour in the cooking oil (please bear this in mind that approximately 10 tablespoons of oil are needed for this cooking so kalau sape2 yang tengah try your best to maintain body figure tu, bole la lessen the amount of oil siket ye - macam gue ni... hee hee...). First, fry your chopped garlic till its golden brown then you add in your chopped onions as well and fry them altogether for a little longer. Next, you add in you chilli paste and fry until the whole thing looks 'crispy-like' and then add in you chilli padi. Fry all the ingredients until you have this strong chilli aroma coming out from the fried gravy... Last but not least, add in your pounded shrimps and salt to taste (I normally do not add in salt as the dried shrimps already tasted salty). Fry the whole thing for about 10mins and cover it up with a lid for another 5mins...

Aaaaaaaand... YOU'RE DONE!! Woo hoo!! Serve it with rice/porridge, stir-fried vegetables and meat dishes of your own. Or you can even use it as a base ingredient for your fried rice. ;) Bon appetito!!

Little Asil's 1st Day In Averbel C.D.C...

Salam people!!

OK, I was actually feeling pretty excited today coz it's little Asil's first day in the Child Development Centre that I've enrolled him into...

His "Flexicare" starts from 3.30pm till 6.30pm... So basically, I took "half day leave" for 4 consecutive days to see him thru the whole thing... Even the hubby and my mom dropped by to check on little Asil's progress...

For the first 2 hours, everything went smoothly... I was with Asil in the Centre... So far so good... Until the part when I sneaked out of the Centre and left him by himself (with the rest of the kids his age)...

So hubby and I, we were peeping thru a little gap in the window outside the Centre... That's when we saw Asil crying and weeping after realizing that his "Ummi" was not with him... Kesian pulak tengok diye nanges...

We ended up fetching little Asil from the Centre 45mins earlier coz the sight of him crying and weeping was unbearable... The moment little Asil saw me, lagi la diye melalak sekuat2 hatinye... Macam da lame tak jumpe Ummi diye... So the hubby tried to calm him down... Biase la, umpan diye dengan cemel2-lan that sort of thing... So his crying eventually subsided once we reached home... Kesian... Sampai tersedu2...

Well, tomorrow's another day... And another one... And another... And starting from tomorrow onwards, Asil will be wearing his uniform to the Centre... Insya'allah, he'll get use to the place and make new friends soon... He's gonna be just fine... :)
